Happy New Year Sale

Posted on: 13th January 2017,

Before I start can I wish you all a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of us at Village Green Soaps.

Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye with everyone was home for Christmas and our two little wastes enjoyed having a full house to fuss over them.

We had the most fantastic season out and about attending various event around the country and I just want to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone of you who came and visited our stall.  I love meeting you and its always nice when someone comes back to us telling us that they loved their last purchase and came to the show to see us again.

So now as the days are getting much colder and the nights draw in we are snuggling in the warm indoors, lighting our candles and getting to know what ‘Hygge’ is all about.

The country seems to have taken the Danish feeling to heart this year and books about bringing Hygge to your home and articles in the papers have been spotted.  So what is Hygge?  From the Oxford Dictionary it is  ‘a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture)  ‘count on candlelight —almost a requirement for that special hygge experience’ .  They do say the Danish people are amongst the happiest and most contented in the world.

So we’ve been giving it a go.  We’ve grabbed some cosy socks, put on our slippers, lit the fire and we’ve got candles burning in various scents.  We have been enjoying our seasonal winter candles, Christmas Spice, Spiced Nutmeg, Strudel and Spice, Frankincense and Myrrh and Christmas Hearth to name but a few.  We have jotted down plans for 2017 and preparing for some exciting new opportunities which I can’t wait to be able to share with you….and I will in due course.

In the meantime if you would like to be able to cosy up and enjoy some Hygge of your own we have reduced all our winter candles on our website.  Normally priced at £7.00 they are now £5.50.  Our candles are hand poured by us in Gloucestershire and burn for between 30 and 35 hours.   So grab them while you can and enjoy and embrace these colder evenings.

Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2017!!
